Making a biopic is a risky endeavor, but reenacting the life of the most majestic rock band ever in an accurate, yet entertaining way while keeping it to an acceptable movie length is a challenge as legendary as Queen itself. If you’re a fan of Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, you outta book yourself a viewing before another one bites the dust.

The latest film to join the ranks of the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe acts not only as a world building element but does a wonderful job in leading to the much anticipated Infinity War story arc. The critics and fans alike have already voiced their opinion and I won't disagree; I enjoyed the movie very much.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has taken over the box office. While the critics and fans are still fighting over it, I’d like to discuss what the hell happened in the writers room. And by discuss I mean list everything wrong that prevented me from enjoying what should have been an easy ride.

Unlike its current open-world competitors, the latest Bioware epic is catching some pretty heavy flak for a myriad of reasons. Considering how the hype preceding the release; is it all justified?

...But it ain't livin' up to its massive hype. I was fortunate enough to see the pre-screening as an invitee from our good friends at WB Games Montreal. I cannot stress this enough; I am grateful for the event and the free movie, but my opinion has to remain objective. To be fair I've also seen Star Trek Beyond this week and it didn't impress either. No hard feelings, guys.

With Netflix pumping out shows at their current rate, one could wager the quality would decline with the quantity at favorable odds, but the latest featured series Stranger Things appeared out of the blue to defy all expectations. This review will be short and sweet (like the product) and will contain no major spoilers.

E3 being behind us almost a full month I'm late to the coverage party, yet I feel compelled to express my excitement for certain titles that were re-introduced or announced. Most of the following won't be much of a surprise for anyone who knows me, but don't fret an indie title made its way in there!

I bet psychoanalysts are having a blast with this Netflix original. Bojack Horseman is back since July 17th and it picked up exactly where it left; a fun, ambiguous mix of dark comedy and drama. I’ve conveyed my thoughts on the show’s first season last year and had high expectations for the follow-up. I’m glad to say it doesn’t disappoint. 

When the original Despicable Me came out we were all charmed by the yellow skinned, bald, multilingual, overalls wearing minions. The movie was a blast but wouldn’t be as fun without them. From their introduction to becoming inclusive to the plot in the sequel, it was only a matter of time before these cute critters’ starpower grant them a full feature. The human brain is one hell of a complex machine. Philosophers, psychologists and scientists have worked restlessly since the dawn of consciousness to try and understand how it works. While a myriad of theories and facts exist on the matter, Pixar decided to represent how our minds function through animation, and it works.

Jurassic World is a fantastic movie if your only expectations are that it will contain dinosaurs, action scenes and won’t take itself seriously. If you were looking for originality, cleverness and visual spectacles akin to the first title you will have a bad time. Don’t get me wrong, the movie is still entertaining and it will certainly gain traction with the younger end of the target audience (or your inner 9 years old as would say Jorge), but I can’t get over how Michael Bay-esque the second half feels. The latest Christopher Nolan was released today on Blu-Ray and DVD (time to update your setup, fellow geek) and I can’t wait to have my second viewing. While I patiently way for the UPS guy to deliver my copy, I thought it’d be nice to detail why you should probably watch this amazing film, if you haven’t already. If you have, just do it a second time for awareness’ sake.
